Children’s Entertainer for Halloween

21st October – 31st October

10am – 4pm

A rather unusual opportunity has arisen for an experienced children’s entertainer to join our Visitor Welcome Team for the October half term period.

Throughout half term we hold our annual Pumpkin Trail – this involves families following a mile long trail through Strid Wood to discover giant pumpkins, mystery doors and figuring out the secret ingredient in the witch’s cauldron. The event is free and attracts a large number of visitors throughout the day.

We are looking for someone who will play a spooky witch/pantomime dame type character. You will be based outside, at the end of the pumpkin trail in Strid Wood equipped with a smoky cauldron telling spooky tales, comical Halloween jokes and handing out a challenge to occupy the children for the walk back to the Cavendish Shop.

This role is suited to someone with previous experience in children’s entertainment who enjoys being outdoors and is able to improvise when needed and also follow a script that will be provided. You must be confident engaging with young children and families and provide a mystical, magical, fun experience for them all. It is important that you are comfortable dealing with high volumes of children and families, whilst being able to make the experience intimate for smaller groups.

This is a temporary post from 21st October - 31st October, working from 10am-4pm
