Housekeeper

An interesting opportunity has arisen for an experienced housekeeper to live on site in a two bedroom apartment next to, but separate from, the main residence of The Hall which is set in the beautiful grounds of Bolton Priory.

You will report to the Private Head Housekeeper based at Chatsworth and the Agent of the Bolton Abbey Estate but be self-managed for the greater part of the year taking responsibility for all domestic arrangements within the Hall including: arranging staff for house parties, cleaning & polishing (including antiques and previous objects for which training will be provided), attending to laundry and arranging maintenance repairs. Simple cooking may also be required on the odd occasion.

Complete confidentiality and attention to detail is a prerequisite, as is a sense of humour.

Although this is a full time role, the Hall is used for family holidays and shoots for part of the year only meaning your work load will fluctuate, therefore flexibility is essential including a requirement to work longer hours and weekends when the owners are in residence, taking lieu time/holiday and undertaking conservation and deep clean tasks over quieter periods.

Please apply by sending an up to date CV showing current salary to: Julie Davison, Group HR & Safety Director, Chatsworth, Estate Office, Edensor, Bakewell. DE45 1PJ or via e mail to hr@chatsworth.org Telephone 01246 565339. Closing date: 7th January 2018. A DBS check will be required.
