Father Christmas Booking 2026
A wondrous winter wonderland awaits
Father Christmas returns to Bolton Abbey this winter.
November 21, 22, 28 & 29
December 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23
Father Christmas will be sharing his magical winter village with families again this Christmas, bringing together bushcraft adventure and festive traditions to Bolton Abbey.
Father Christmas’ Village will, once again, be located in the heart of Bolton Abbey village, where families can enjoy a Christmas experience inspired by traditions from around the world.
Under twinkling Christmas lights, children will take part in guided activities including fire lighting, storytelling and crafting. Families can also enjoy a number of self-led activities such as toasting marshmallows and reindeer hoopla. This year the experience allows you to move around freely as a family rather than in a group.
As you explore the village, children and their grown ups will discover Christmas traditions from Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, America and Australia, including some that have been enjoyed for generations and others that have become more recent family favourites.
During your visit, you will meet Father Christmas inside his cosy wooden cabin. Here, there will be an opportunity to talk to Father Christmas, take photos with him and receive a bespoke, Bolton Abbey Christmas decoration gift.
Families can hang the decoration on their tree each year as a reminder of their visit and perhaps make it part of their own Christmas tradition.
On November 29, and December 21 we are pleased to have a couple of relaxed visits for children with additional needs and their families. Click here to learn more.
We warmly welcome adults and older siblings to enjoy Father Christmas’ Village, soak up the festive atmosphere, and share in the magic while lending a helping hand to younger family members.
