Sue Ryder - Run Bolton Abbey

bolton abbey run

Sunday 11th November 2018
11am (after the two minute silence)

We are delighted to be hosting this brilliant trail running event for the second year, in aid of Sue Ryder’s Manorlands Hospice, a charity that supports many local families.

We are excited to allow runners exclusive access to parts of the Estate not usually open to the public.

With routes to suit runners of all abilities, you have the challenging half marathon or 10 mile routes, or perhaps the 10K or the fun run to choose from.

Starting and finishing at the Cavendish Pavilion, each of the routes will take you on a mix of riverside and woodland paths, forestry tracks, grassland and open moorland. Routes include taking on a steep section of Barden Fell, making your way along the Valley of Desolation, exclusive access through Laund Pasture Plantation, over Dicken Dike and winding back down through Strid Wood.

Each participant will get a chip timing and a Run Bolton Abbey medal.

Estate Admission is included in the ticket price.

You will certainly have earned a large slice of something tasty by the time you’ve crossed the finish line!

Roadworks on the Estate

The B6160 from the Devonshire Arms to just south of the Village Car Park will be closed for essential drainage works on the highway from 10/09/18 – 24/09/18 (dates may be subject to change). The road is then expected to re-open on two way traffic lights for remaining work to be completed.

The Estate will be open as usual throughout the roadworks with access via Halton East (single track in places and should be driven with caution), Embsay and Eastby or further north via Burnsall.

Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for current updates or visit the highways link for information
