Run Bolton Abbey

Long Distance Trail Running Event

Sunday 12th November 2017
11am (after the two minute silence)

We are delighted to be hosting this new and exciting trail running event in aid of Sue Ryder’s Manorlands Hospice, a charity that supports many local families.

This will be the first event of its kind here at Bolton Abbey and we are excited to allow runners exclusive access to parts of the Estate not usually open to the public.

With courses to suit runners of all abilities, you have the challenging half marathon or 10 mile routes, or perhaps the 10K or the fun run to choose from.

Starting and finishing at the Cavendish Pavillion, each of the routes will take you on a mix of riverside and woodland paths, forestry tracks, grassland and open moorland. Routes include taking on a steep section of Barden Fell, making your way along the Valley of Desolation, exclusive access through Laund Pasture Plantation, over Dicken Dike and wind back down Strid Wood.

Each participant will get a chip timing and a Run Bolton Abbey medal.

All participants, on production of their entry form, will be entitled to a reduced admission fee of £7.50 per vehicle on the day.

You will certainly have earned a large slice of something tasty by the time you’ve crossed the finish line!
